Just over six months after he and Britney Spears broke up, Sam Asghari is speaking out about his ex-wife calling her a blessing.
while talking to PEOPLE Last weekend, Asghari said it was a blessing to be able to share a life with Spears for a long time. The duo began dating in 2017 before tying the knot in June 2022. After 14 months, Spears and Asghari ended their marriage.
“People grow apart and people move on,” Sam Asghari explained about his marriage to Britney Spears. Instead of harboring ill will toward his ex, Asghari said he prefers to celebrate the time they spent together.
“I’ve always hated when people leave a certain relationship,” he continued. “And at some point they told each other that they loved each other and they sat at the same table and ate food. [together] – so I never understood when people break up [and] They talk badly about each other.”
Sam Asghari pointed out that he will never speak badly of Britney Spears. “I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life,” he shared. “And that will always be a part of my life, a chapter of my life.”
TMZ previously reported that Sam Asghari told others that he suspected Britney Spears had “connected with at least one of the male staff members” who worked at home. The news outlet revealed that Asghari “frequently complained” that Spears also physically attacked him. The cases eventually led to the couple’s separation in August 2023.
However, sources told Page Six that there was no truth to the allegations made about Spears. But at some point she started seeing her former housekeeper, Paul Richard Soliz.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears allegedly called Sam Asghari pathetic for wanting to accept her for everything while they worked out their divorce.
According to sources, Asghari believes he should be “adequately compensated” for everything he allegedly went through with Spears during their seven-year relationship. He addresses her flamboyant behavior on social media, as well as rumors of mood swings.
“She feels like Sam is playing ‘Mr. “Britney Spears’ card for all it’s worth,” the source revealed. “She finds it a little pathetic.”
The tipster also stated that the exact amount he wants is kept confidential. “He is not happy with what Britney and her team have proposed,” they continued. “There’s a lot of back and forth disputes.”
“Things have become a lot more complicated than either of them expected…Sam isn’t in need of cash, but he’s willing to hustle and fight for the extra money he thinks he deserves.”
