However, there are some key differences in the Japanese version of Link’s adventure diary, and the dialogue between the characters further reveals Link’s perception of Zora’s champion. Since the English version made Mipha feel like a superficial love affair, the Japanese original gave Mipha a deeper character and revealed Link’s personal thoughts about her.

In the memory, Mipha is healing Links’ arm, and that means she did a lot when they were kids. Among the many instances where Miffa’s love for the knight was revealed, the Japanese translation of the adventure diary also shows Link’s love for Miffa.

In addition, many of the characters the hero meets also reveal information about the champion, and entering Zora’s Domain is no exception. Mipha’s brother Sidon tells Link that Mipha has feelings for him, and Mipha’s father tells Link that he welcomes the idea of the two getting married. Zora Armor also shows Mipha’s romantic feelings for Hylian. While the English version of the adventure diary doesn’t seem to state Link’s personal thoughts on Mifa, the Japanese version does.

The English translation only mentions that Mipha is a special word for Link, but the word used in Japanese may actually have a more specific meaning. This word can mean that mutual love between two people has been severed or impossible for some reason. The translation in this sense of the word feels more appropriate to the circumstances of Mipha and Links.
There is another example in the entry that appears after Link is given Mipha’s Grace and goes back to talk to King Dorephan BOTWEnglish translation of change log link. In English, the entry states that the player has obtained one of the champion’s spells, while the Japanese magazine states that Link, written in first person, can now act on his wishes. Miffa. Mipha’s Grace or Mipha’s Wish talks about protecting all the people she loves, and Link says he can finally grant Mipha’s wish. Apparently, in the Japanese translation The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildIn The Adventure Diary, both Mipha and Link love and care for each other, and it is possible that under different circumstances they could become romantic partners.
