Bobby Kinnar is an Indian transgender politician and member of the Aam Aadmi Party. In December 2022, she became the first member of the transgender community to represent a ward in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Bobby Kinnar was born in 1984 (age 38 years; as of 2022) in Sultanpur, New Delhi. As soon as Bobby was born, his parents knew that he was different from other children. When Bobby was 15, her family was pressured by society to give her to the transgender community; In such a situation, Bobby was adopted by a transgender Guruji. Bobby’s father Om Prakash ran a small dhaba in Sultanpur area of ​​Delhi. Bobby died when he was a child. She has a younger brother who works in a private company in Delhi. He also has a sister. He and his siblings were raised by their mother, who worked at odd jobs to support her family. When Bobby was 15, she was adopted by a transgender guru (deceased). Bobby has also worked for the marriage of about 15 girls at his own expense. In 2011, he participated in Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement. As of 2022, Bobby is the president of the Delhi unit of Hindu Yuva Samaj Ekta Awam Anti-Terrorism Committee and has been associated with the firm for almost 15 years. Bobby also runs a primary school to educate less fortunate children in her area.

Politician

After becoming a part of Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement, Bobby associated himself with the Aam Aadmi Party. After this he actively worked for the party. In 2017, she wanted to contest the Municipal Corporation elections in Delhi on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. However, he had to contest the election as an independent candidate as he was denied a ticket by AAP. During the election campaign, he accused all the parties of corruption and said that the parties were asking for money. Rs 50 lakh in exchange of ticket. She lost the election. In 2022, Aam Aadmi Party declared Bobby Kinnar as its candidate from Sultanpuri A Ward-43 for the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, making Aam Aadmi Party the first political party in India to give ticket to a transgender. During the election campaign he promised to provide funds for the education of less fortunate children and take the work of the Kejriwal government to the masses. In December 2022, Bobby Kinnar won the MCD election by defeating Indian National Congress candidate Varun Dhaka by a margin of 6,714 votes. Controversy

In May 2011, a person named Ramesh had filed a complaint against Bobby Kinnar at Mongol Puri police station. In his complaint, Ramesh alleged that Bobby along with other transgenders including Khalibuddin, Ram Babu, Lakshmi and Shobha hatched a criminal conspiracy to mutilate Ramesh’s private parts. Later, Ramesh moved the Rohini court to prosecute all the accused. In its final verdict, the court said that Ramesh opted for voluntary castration for financial gain.
