He gave an outstanding performance in his debut season, finishing in 17th position after qualifying at 23. The following year, he ran a part program with ‘RSS’, ‘Hillman Racing’. and ‘Glenden Enterprises’. McLeod made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut for Rick Ware Racing at Iowa Speedway. In the same year, he also reached the top racing series ‘NASCAR’.

He returned to the ‘Xfinity Series’ in 2016, to execute his first full plan in a ‘NASCAR’ national series with his own team, ‘BJ McLeod Motorsports’. He earned three top-20 finishes in his No. 78 car and partially drove the No. 8 along with Travis Kvapil, Todd Peck, Stanton Barrett and Jeff Green.
Mcleod did a leading top-25 lap at Auto Club Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. However, he had his most unforgettable performance at Daytona International Speedway, finishing 11th.
Along with that, his team also showed an incredible effort, reaching several top-15 finishes. McLeod brought in JD Motorsports star Vinnie Miller along with Gary Keller in 2019. Although Miller was a rookie to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, he drove the team’s flagship, the number 78 Camaro.
