Bhaskar Rao is an Indian politician and former police officer of 1990 batch of Karnataka cadre. In 2019, he started working as the Commissioner of Police of Bengaluru City Police. He has served as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in the Karnataka State Reserve Police and Internal Security Division. In 2021, he was appointed as the ADGP for Railways. In 2022, he joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP); However, in 2023, he left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
