Vaibhavi Upadhyaya (1990-2023) was an Indian actor, theatre artist, and singer. She played the role of Jasmine Mavani in the popular Hindi sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ (2004). On 23 May 2023, she died in a car accident in Himachal Pradesh.

Death
On 23 May 2023, she died in a car accident while she was on vacation in Banjar, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. A few days earlier, she had come for a vacation along with her fiancé Jay. While the couple was travelling in a Fortuner car, the car went out of control at Sidhwa near Banjar and the car fell about 50 feet in the valley. The localities there immediately informed the local police about the accident. Vaibhavi and Jay were then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Banjar. The doctors declared her dead while Jay survived with major injuries. Soon, her brother reached Himachal Pradesh to claim his sister’s body. On 24 May 2023, Vaibhavi’s last rites were performed in Mumbai. The Indian actor Satish Shah shared the news of her demise through his Twitter account. He tweeted,
Vaibhavi Upadhyay, aka Jasmin in our serial Sarabhai vs Sarabhai a fine actor and a colleague left for heavenly abode yday. The whole SvS team is in a shock. ओम शान्ति.”
