Bhasha Sumbli was born in Sumbal in Jammu and Kashmir and brought up in a Kashmiri Pandit migrant camp in Delhi. During an interview he shared his memories of his stay in the camp. He said,
I was a child when my parents were forced to leave Kashmir like the rest of the community. We lived in a camp in Delhi. Life there was full of sorrows. There was a constant fight for bread and blankets. I remember that once my elderly grandfather had to struggle a lot with a young man for a blanket. It was very bad…that pain remains with us.”

He studied acting and dancing in Koodiyattam (an ancient Indian classical acting style) from the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

He started his career as a theater artist and has performed in various theater plays including theater plays directed by famous Kashmiri folk theater artist Moti Lal Khemu.

At the age of 15 he wrote his first theater play. After this he wrote many Hindi theater plays and some of them were published in national magazines. He has also worked as an acting consultant for various TV reality shows like ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz 2’ (2015) and ‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’ (2017).

She has appeared in one season of the Doordarshan TV serial ‘Ek Tha Rusty’. In 2019, she starred in the Hindi TV serial ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ aired on Sony Entertainment Television. She made her Bollywood debut with the Hindi film ‘Chhapaak’ (2020), in which she played a cameo role. He has also worked as a consultant for the IPL extravaganza talk show ‘Super Funday’ (2021) aired on Star Network. In 2022, she appeared in the Hindi film ‘The Kashmir Files’, in which she played the role of Sharda Pandit.

- While she was in NSD, her research articles on ancient and popular theater styles were published in NSD’s magazine “Rang Prasang”.
- During an interview, Bhasha while talking about studying in NSD said,
We have very little left to desire as our faculty consists of experienced artists who can spot anything that is needed, most of the times even before we realize it. We have more than what we could have asked for and I can safely say that we have the best campus and the best environment for any institute in Delhi and beyond.”

- During an interview, he shared an incident during the shooting of the Hindi film ‘The Kashmir Files’ in 2022.
This brutal murder has been often discussed at home. During the shooting, when the scene of me being cut with a saw was being filmed, my health became very bad. I did not see any difference between reel and real life. My BP went low and I started having trouble breathing. After completing the scene, I sat in a corner. At the same time, another scene was being filmed, where people were standing together and being shot. Vivek sir had cast Kashmiri Pandits there. When they were being fired upon, I started shouting there and saying don’t kill my people. I had forgotten that acting was happening. The production team came to me and consoled me. Vivek sir also came. I was not breathing at that time, I had a panic attack. I could not understand how my life would be saved. Then I was sent back to the hotel. I stayed in the hotel room for three days and did not talk to anyone. However, after that I felt very embarrassed as to how I had become so broke despite having an acting coach. I was not even able to make eye contact with the crew members.
