Beyoncé’s mother responds to critics who accuse her daughter of ‘lightening her skin’

Tina Knowles Lawson has had enough. This is what she has to say about the “fools” who continue to criticize her daughter.

Tina Knowles Lawson, mother of famous R&B singer Beyoncé, responded on Instagram after seeing posts attacking her daughter’s recent change in appearance.

The “Halo” singer left her fans in shock when she flaunted luscious, long platinum locks at the star-studded premiere of her play in Los Angeles. Renaissance concert film.

“I came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all the stupid and ignorant people [self-hating] racist statements about her lightening her skin and wearing platinum hair [and] wanting to be white,” Lawson began.

“She makes a movie, called Renaissancewhere the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver rug, and suggested silver clothing and you idiots decide she’s trying to be a white woman and bleaching her skin.

The disgruntled 69-year-old then called a journalist who apparently contacted Beyoncé’s stylist “to tell her that fans are saying she wants to be white and I wanted to get a statement about it.”

“Well, that made my blood boil,” Lawson added, “that this white woman felt so entitled to talk about her blackness.” He then went on to express his disappointment that “some black people… on social media” were ignoring the fact that “black women have been wearing platinum hair since the days of Etta James.”

“I’m sick and tired of people attacking her,” Beyoncé’s mother said. “Every time she does something she works hard for and it’s a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience. […] Here you sad little enemies come out of nowhere.”

Lawson later admitted that her eldest daughter would be “mad” at her for addressing her so-called fans on social media, but she was simply tired of the backlash.

“I’m sick of you losers. I know she’ll be mad at me for doing this, but I’m sick of it! This girl mind her own business. She helps people whenever she can. “She uplifts and promotes black women and the underdog at every turn.”

Celebrities like Issa Rae, Octavia Spencer and Cynthia Erivo also weighed in to support Lawson.

It is undeniable that mothers will always protect their offspring, no matter how old they are.
