Following in her mother’s footsteps, Beyoncé and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter will make her theatrical debut in the upcoming film. Lion King prequel, Mufasa.
According to IMDb, mufase follows the origin story of Simba’s late father. The film follows the story of Mufasa’s rise to King of the Pride Lands. Also during the film, Simba helps his cub follow in his footsteps to eventually become the leader of the Pride Lands.
Blue Ivy Carter will play the role of Kiara, Simba’s daughter. The stars of the upcoming film with Carter are Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Organ, Billy Eichner and Donald Glover. Beyoncé will also reprise her role as Nala.
PEOPLE also reported that mufase will feature songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The new trailer declares: “This story begins far beyond the mountains and the shadows, on the other side of the light.”
Director Barry Jenkins also told the outlet that he was inspired by Beyoncé while working on the film. “[Watching Beyonce] Both on screen and behind the screen, being a mother, and how that affected and impacted to improve the work that we were all doing, was truly amazing.”

During an interview at CBS Mornings Last fall, Jay Z opened up about Blue Ivy Carter and how she sees her famous parents while at home.
“Blue, she’s been cheating on me a little bit,” the rapper said of his eldest daughter. “But I caught her in the corner. You know, now she’s asking me if I think this is cool, like my opinion on the sneakers she’s wearing. She has returned”.
