Beth Mooney is an Australian cricketer who plays for the national cricket team. She plays for Western Australia and Perth Scorchers at domestic level. She became the world number one batsman in WT20I cricket at the conclusion of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020.

Bethany Louise Mooney was born on Friday, 14 January 1994 (age 29 years; as in 2023) in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. Athletic since childhood, she grew up playing multiple sports from soccer to tennis and Australian rules football. He began his cricket journey shortly before his eighth birthday when he was invited to replace his brother in the Kiala Lakes Cricket Club team. Recalling this in an interview, he said,
I always played cricket in the backyard with my family and one day my brother’s (Tom) team was short of a player and Dad said, ‘Why don’t you give Beth a chance. I didn’t hesitate. I liked being outside. Neither boy complained, although I raced from fine leg to fine leg, where you put your worst player. Since then I played cricket. That’s how it all started.”
This invitation resulted in him appearing regularly for Kiala Lakes Cricket Club. At the age of 10, Mooney and his family moved from Shepparton, Victoria to Hervey Bay, Queensland. There, he attended Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School and Xavier Catholic College. He spent his childhood in Hervey Bay riding bikes along the Esplanade in the mornings before school with his father and sea kayaking with his dog named Jasper. In Queensland, he was recognized as the best catcher in his team at the Hervey Bay Zone trials. Therefore, his coach Richard Dugdale suggested him to try wicketkeeping. After this, she went on to play in the state championship. Then, she was selected as the wicketkeeper for the Queensland primary school girls’ team. From the age of 11 to 18, he represented the Hervey Bay Boys Cavaliers after his parents moved to the NSW coastal town.
