Bella Hadid is speaking her mind.

The 27-year-old superstar shared his thoughts on social media on Thursday (October 26), amid pressure and criticism for supporting Palestine in the past.

“Forgive me for my silence. I have a lot to say, but for today I will be brief,” she began.

“I have been sent hundreds of death threats daily, my phone number has been leaked and my family has felt in danger. But I can no longer remain silent. Fear is not an option. The people and children of Palestine, especially in Gaza, cannot afford our silence. We are not brave, they are,” she continued.

“My heart bleeds with pain from the trauma I am watching unfold, as well as the generational trauma of my Palestinian blood. As I see the aftermath of the airstrikes in Gaza, I grieve with all the mothers who have lost their children and the children who cry alone, all the lost fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and friends who will never walk this path again. land”.

“I grieve for the Israeli families who have been dealing with the pain and consequences of October 7. Regardless of the country’s history, I condemn terrorist attacks against civilians, anywhere. Harming women and children and inflicting terror does not and should not do the Free Palestine movement any good. I believe deep in my heart that no child, no person anywhere, should be separated from their family, whether temporarily or indefinitely. That applies to both the Israeli and Palestinian people,” Bella wrote.

“It is important to understand the difficulties of being Palestinian, in a world that sees us as nothing more than terrorists who resist peace. It is harmful, embarrassing and categorically false. My father was born in Nazareth in the year of the Nakba (the displacement of 750,000 Palestinians in 1948). Nine days after his birth, he, in the arms of his mother, along with his family, were expelled from their home in Palestine, becoming refugees, far from a place they once called home. My grandparents will never be allowed to return. My family witnessed 75 years of violence against the Palestinian people, particularly brutal settler invasions that led to the destruction of entire communities, cold-blooded murders, and the forcible removal of families from their homes. The practice of settlements on Palestinian lands continues to this day. The pain of that is unimaginable.”

“We must come together to stand up for humanity and compassion and demand that our leaders do the same. All religions are peace, it is the governments that are corrupt, and intertwining the two is the greatest sin of all. We are one and God has created us all equal. All bloodshed, tears and corpses must be lamented with the same respect. There is an urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza that must be addressed. Families need access to water and food. Hospitals need fuel to power generators, care for the injured and keep people alive,” he concluded.

“Wars have laws and must be respected no matter what. We need to continue to pressure our leaders, wherever we are, not to forget the urgent needs of the people of Gaza and to ensure that innocent Palestinian civilians are not the forgotten victims of this war. “I stand with humanity, knowing that peace and security belong to us all.”
