Career

Bally Sagoo began his career in 1989 when he was offered to remix a Punjabi song named ‘Hey Jamalo,’ by the UK-based record label, Oriental Star Agencies. The song became a massive hit and Sagoo decided to join Oriental Star Agencies as a full-time in-house producer. In 1990, Sagoo released his first album ‘Wham Bam’ and its sequel ‘Wham Bam 2’ in 1993. Other albums from 1990 to 1993 included Star Crazy (1991), Essential Ragga (1991), and ‘Magic Touch’ (1992) along with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

1990s Music Anthology 

Sagoo got a contract with Sony Records in 1994 to produce Bollywood Flashback. When his album track “Chura Liya” was featured on BBC Radio 1, he became the first Indian artist to achieve national mainstream radio.

This was followed in 1996 by his first all-original album, Rising from the East, which featured songs like “Dil Cheez” and “Tum Bin Jiya.” Following that, he appeared on the album Dance Attack and composed another remix music video, Mera Laung Gawacha.

2000s Music Anthology

In 1999, Sagoo established his own UK music company, Ishq Records. His album Dub of Asia was his first release. Ishq then developed other Sagoo items such as ‘Anything But Silent,’ ‘Hanji,’ and the technically advanced ‘Sag Loops’ series. The firm also managed and promoted other young musicians, publishing songs such as “Noorie” on Sagoo’s Bollywood Flashback 2 CD in 2000. Sagoo’s music has appeared in films starring Aishwarya Rai and Dylan McDermott, including Monsoon Wedding (2001), The Mistress of Spices, and It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. In 2006, he appeared in and composed the music for the Punjabi film ‘Sajna ve Sajna,’ which was released. In the 2010s, he participated in television programs such as the UK Lottery and the Asian reality show Bollywood Star.

2010s Music Anthology 

Sagoo founded a studio in Mumbai in 2012 and divided his time between the UK and India. He integrated ‘Ishq Records’ corporate assets into Fresh Dope Records, the ‘Fresh Dope Industries’ music branch. It is headquartered in Brussels and operates a satellite office in Mumbai. It produces feature films, television shows, artist marketing and management, corporate engagement, internet and conventional publishing, live performances, lifestyle items, fashion trends, and technological advancements.
