After serving in the Indian Army for five years, Badal started his career in the private sector with a manufacturing company. In 1998, Badal started his career as Deputy General Manager at JK Tire & Industries Limited; He worked for about nine years and chose commercial real estate in 2007. In 2007, he was appointed as Vice President (VP) at Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL – a real estate services company), Bengaluru. He worked as VP for three years, then was appointed as Managing Director of JLL’s Chennai location in January 2011, where he worked until March 2014. He was transferred to JLL’s NCR location as Managing Director; He left JLL in February 2017, completing a tenure of more than six years as Managing Director. In April 2017, he joined Cushman & Wakefield as a managing director and is employed there until August 2023.

On 17 August 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Colliers, Gurugram, Haryana. After joining Colliers, Badal Yagnik issued a statement,
