Austin Butler talks about ‘Masters of the Air’ and his connection with star Callum Turner

Austin Butler spoke about his masters of the air experience.

The Oscar nominee, 32, began working on his new series after finishing Elvis. It was a very busy time for him, but it explained why he was never going to pass up the opportunity when it presented itself.

She also touched on her relationship with her co-star Callum Turner. The pair are closely linked on the series and Austin revealed how they worked together to showcase that friendship in front of the cameras.

“It was one of those obvious decisions,” Austin told The Hollywood Reporter of accepting the role. “You have Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman. [all executive producers]and I’m a big fan of Brothers band, The Pacific and Saving Private Ryan.”

He added: “I knew this opportunity doesn’t come around every day, so I took advantage of everything I could.”

Regarding his relationship with Callum, the actor explained that they decided to bond from the beginning.

“For these two characters, we knew that their friendship was really going to be a key element, so from the beginning, we said, ‘Let’s get together and talk.’ And from that first night we went out, we hit it off quickly,” Austin recalled. “We got past any superficial questions and started talking directly about life, love, our fears, our dreams and all that, so we got to know each other very well.”
