Asia wa Charles, popularly known as Asia Namirembe, a Ugandan TikTok celebrity, passed away on January 27, 2023 at the age of 36. SB4 Media’s Rogers Sebunya confirmed the news, adding asked everyone to pray for her family members to be safe. Asia’s relatives reported that she suffered from stomach pain and toothache for a week. When her condition worsened, she was taken to the hospital and had emergency surgery. However, she did not survive the procedure and was pronounced dead on Friday morning.
After her death, her friend Charles expressed her grief in a video recorded by NBS entertainment writer Kayz during a memorial service in Asia. Namirembe is described as his best friend and he says he will miss her because she has an interesting personality and is loved by everyone in the areas she visits. Charles went on to say that they were planning a few more concerts.

Asian-American Charles is known to be outspoken and her alleged “love” with Charles has attracted media attention. While the couple was filming an advertisement for their wedding clothes, word spread on social media that they were married. Charles has appeared in many videos on Tiktoker. Furthermore, SB4 has helped Asia become a prominent social media celebrity and her fans and followers have adored her for her dances and skits with Charles. They even appeared as a couple on several occasions. Ever since Asia wa Charles became famous on TikTok thanks to her hilarious videos, Twitteratis flooded social media sites with condolences as soon as news of her tragic death went viral.

Many famous social media stars attended the funeral of Asia wa Charles on January 30.
Asia was laid to rest on January 30, 2023 at Nakasoga Village, Kirumba Sub-County, Kyotera District. The funeral was attended by famous social media stars, as well as Frank Abaho, president of the Uganda TikTokers Association. He commended all the TikTok stars present for changing their schedules to honor Asia.
Several other celebrities were present at the funeral. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine, of the National Unity Platform was also present and encouraged all TikTok stars to use the platform to raise awareness of various issues. Robert turns out to be Asia’s old classmate, and the two also live in the same village.
