In 2019, Ashu Singh participated in the All India Inter University Championship in which he represented Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (Jaunpur). He earned a total of 15 tackle points and an average out rate of 40.53%. The following year, Ashu Singh represented his home state Kabaddi team at the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championship in Jaipur, in which the Uttar Pradesh team won the bronze medal in the final. In 2022, Ashu Singh represented the Uttar Pradesh state Kabaddi team in the 36th National Games held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In the final of the tournament, Ashu’s team defeated Maharashtra team and won the gold medal.

In 2023, he represented Uttar Pradesh in the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship, which was held in Mahendragarh, Haryana. Ashu Singh also worked in the Indian Railways and became a part of the Indian Railways Kabaddi team, which he represented and won the Vokkaligara Cup, an all-India Kabaddi tournament held in Karnataka.

In 2023, Ashu Singh represented the state of Uttar Pradesh in the 37th National Games of India held in Goa. The team won the gold medal in the tournament final against the Goa Kabaddi team with an overall score of 61–30.

Pro Kabbadi League

In 2019, Ashu was selected by Lucknow-based Kabaddi team ‘UP Yoddha’ and made his Pro Kabaddi League debut in Season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He achieved a total of 89 tackle points with an overall average on-mat percentage of 72.3%. In 2021, he was retained by team ‘UP Yoddha’ for Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League, in which Ashu scored 99 tackle points with an average time of 86.19% on the mat.
