Film
In 2018, Ashu debuted with Telugu Movie Chal Mohan Ranga. In 2021, she grabbed another Telugu film titled #pk. She did the role of a doctor in the film. She turned heads when she danced as a side dancer in the song Oo Antava alongside Samantha Prabhu sung by Indravathi Chauhan from the movie Pushpa: The rise (2021).
Television
Ashu began her career by gaining popularity by posting lip-sync videos on social media platforms such as Dubsmash, Josh, and Instagram. In 2019, she then entered the Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 house as a participant.
Although short-lived, her Bigg Boss journey paved her way to popularity. Her social media handles saw a huge rise in the number of followers. She got evicted from the show in the fifth week. Later, she joined Star Maa’s version of Jabardasth, which is called Comedy Stars, as a participant. She then grabbed the opportunity to host a game show with Anchor Ravi, which was titled The Happy Days. In an interview, she said,
Well, I knew hosting would be coming my way but not this soon. It was very unplanned.”
Looking back at her Bigg Boss journey, in an interview, she said,
If ever I go to the BB house again, I would like to be more active and focused on entertaining the viewers.”
She added,
Back then, I was on a different tangent. I was still trying to cope up with a breakup and had no clue where I was and what I was doing. I didn’t know who’s what, too. Neither was I in the space to give anyone that scope to get close nor take any chances. But now, I’ve been working here for quite some time and I will know what is what. I will try to be the chatterbox that I am (laughs). Basically, try not to get into that emotional zone and be at my entertaining best.. if at all I’d go to Bigg Boss (laughs).”
She entered the Telugu Bigg Boss OTT house as a participant in 2022.

Bold interview with Ram Gopal Varma
In 2021, Ashu hit the headlines with her bold interview with Ram Gopal Varma wherein she was seen discussing sex, porn, and personal life on camera. The bold and bizarre interview stirred the Telugu industry. At the beginning of the interview, she slapped RGV for making an inappropriate remark. After the interview, Ashu also posted a video on her YouTube channel in which she disclosed 9 bold reasons why she loves RGV.

She also got his name inked on her body. When Pawan tested positive for Covid-19, she posted a picture of a handwritten letter in which she wished him to get better soon.
- Ashu is popularly known as Jr. Samantha by her fans because of her resemblance with actress Samantha Prabhu.
