controversies
Ashok Srivastava’s case against Arun Rajbhar
Ashok Srivastava from Doordarshan sent a letter to Ghaziabad SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) saying that Arun Rajbhar, son of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader OP Rajbhar, has threatened him. This happened because he had asked why another journalist was injured during the press conference of leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary in Ghaziabad last week. Srivastava said that a journalist named Khalid Chaudhary was hurt by Yadav’s bodyguards when he tried to talk to them at the conference event. After Srivastava posted about this on Twitter, Arun Rajbhar used abusive language against him and said that journalists like him should also be hurt. Srivastava believed that the threat was serious because Rajbhar had links with criminals like Mukhtar Ansari. Srivastava also revealed that she was kidnapped before the 2012 UP elections and fears for her safety. However, the police say that they have not yet received their complaint and they are investigating the matter.
Richa Chadha against Ashok Srivastava
Richa Chadha was part of the “Find a Bed” initiative, an organization that has a website that lists hospital beds that are available right now for people who have COVID-19. This initiative was started by “India’s International Movement to Unite the Nations”. This initiative received support from Bollywood actors like Karan Johar, Boman Irani etc. Brand ambassadors included Richa Chadha, Sunny Leone and Swara Bhaskar. Ashok Srivastava made a comment on Twitter (now X) about how better brand ambassadors should have been chosen, or at least better photos. Richa Chadha hit back and called Ashok Srivastava a misogynist, an evil person and a pervert. Actress Taapsee Pannu responded to Richa Chadha saying that Ashok Srivastava had also made inappropriate comments against her, such people were misusing their power, hence they should be ignored. Richa further said that Srivastava’s comments were just to “display her weakness”. After this Ashok Srivastava has been removed.
