She studied at Bal Vikas School, Panipat and went to SD (PG) College to pursue B.Com and M.Com. He had a keen interest in music from a young age. Kaur started learning music at the age of 5. Then his father advised him to sing Gurbani. Asees trained under Ustad Puran Shahkoti and received several accolades for his version of Gurbani. While Asis was in her college, she was in contact with musician Salim Merchant, who after hearing her voice called her to Mumbai to audition for singing. After this Asees participated in Awaaz Punjab Di after which she came to Mumbai and participated in Indian Idol.

Asees Kaur made her Bollywood singing debut with “Dildara Reprise” from Tamanche. However, she came into limelight with the song “Bolna” from the film Kapoor & Sons, which topped the charts in 2016.
