Controversy
sexual harassment allegation
Reportedly, a woman from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh accused Aryavardhan of sexually assaulting her at his residence in Rajarajeshwarinagar on 21 August 2016. On 10 December 2016, Rajarajeshwarinagar police arrested him and filed an FIR based on the woman’s complaint. Andhra Pradesh. The victim had come to Bengaluru to learn numerology from Aryavardhan and paid a fee of Rs 1.5 lakh on the condition that the entire amount would be refunded to her if the course was of no benefit to her. Later, finding the course ineffective, she demanded a refund. Aryavardhan refused to return the amount. On August 21, the woman and her husband went to Aryavardhan’s flat in Rajarajeshwari Nagar to demand the money back, where she was sexually assaulted. The woman lodged a complaint three months later and Aryavardhan was arrested from Poompuhar in Tamil Nadu. The police registered a case against him under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
