Before joining BJP in October 2018, he did a corporate job. Talking about his inclination towards politics in an interview, he said,
I used to work for private consulting firms and did my MBA in 2009. After 2014, a lot of things evolved in terms of digital presence of political parties. I was inclined towards politics and moved from the consultancy field to the party. My first assignment for BJP was the assembly by-election in Jind in 2019, which was won by the party candidate Krishna Midha. Over the years, I and my team have coordinated digital campaigns during elections in UP, Punjab and other elections.
Arun, who has 2.2 million followers on Facebook and six lakh followers on Twitter, encourages the campaigns run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on his social media accounts.

Controversy
In 2022, Arun came into controversy when he was criticized for tweets he made about Prophet Mohammed and Islam in 2017. In a tweet, Arun compared a glass of wine to Kabba Sharif. Talking about the tweet in an interview, Yadav said,
The said tweet was in response to remarks by a former Samajwadi Party MP in Parliament linking the names of Hindu deities with alcohol.

His tweets went viral on Twitter, after which many Twitter users demanded Arun’s arrest. The hashtag #ArrestArunYadav started trending on 7 July 2022, but no police complaint was filed against him. Haryana BJP President OP Dhankhar had suspended Arun from the post of Haryana IT Cell in-charge on July 8, 2022 due to his controversial tweet on Prophet Mohammad and Islam in 2017.
