Artem moved to the United States in 2003 and began dancing with champion ballroom dancer Giselle Peacock. In 2005, he competed in the first series of the dance competition ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, in which he became one of the eight male finalists before being eliminated. Likewise, he returned as a choreographer in the show’s second season in 2006.

Artem began dating his dance partner Giselle Peacock. Soon, the couple got married in 2004. The marriage lasted for about a year as they divorced in 2005. Furthermore, during his appearance on ‘Dancing With the Stars’, he met Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges of the show, and Los two began dating shortly after. However, their relationship ended two and a half years later, in 2008.
