In honor of a friend and co-star, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to Instagram to pay tribute to Carl Weathers.
In the social media post, Schwarzenegger stated that Weathers will always be a legend, as well as an extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person. “We couldn’t have done Predator without him,” Arnold wrote. “And we certainly wouldn’t have had as much fun doing it.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote then that every minute on set with Carl Weathers was pure joy. “He was the kind of person who pushed you to do your best just to keep up with him. I will miss him and my thoughts are with his family.”
Along with the special tribute, Schwarzenegger posted photos of himself and Weathers on the Predator place. Among the phones is the famous muscle flexing shot.
Predator was released in 1987. The sci-fi horror film followed a team of commandos on a mission in a Central American jungle. Carl Weathers reportedly passed away on Thursday, February 1. The actor’s loved ones revealed that he died in his sleep while at his Los Angeles home.

“You know, there’s a big line: What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas,” Weathers said. “What happened during Predator remains in Predator.”
Carl Weathers later said that he, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the rest of the cast could go to nightclubs during production downtime. He also said there was some competition as well. “We were a group of young people,” he said. “We were all in our own ways trying to outdo each other.”
Weathers recalled that Schwarzenegger had a full gym on set, so the cast was able to go there to work out and “get pumped up” before scenes. “No one wanted to appear weaker than the other,” Weathers said. “So you know there was competition constantly; competition in front of the camera, competition behind the camera, competition at night.”
Weathers added that the cast had a lot of fun. “What do you really expect? They expect a lot of fun, a lot of pranks, a lot of pranks on each other, a lot of pranks, trying to play pranks on each other. “Everything existed.”
