Darshan is a fellow theater actor, chartered accountant and has also been a stock broker at the National Stock Exchange. We got married when I was 18 and he was 21. We have different views and we believe in different things. We have not worked together since our daughter was born. But that’s because we had decided that only one of us would take care of him. He needs his space and time but he is there whenever we need him. I have never talked about my personal life and never will. I don’t think even Darshan would like to talk about this.”

When Apara Mehta was a ninth grade student, she received an offer to play a small role in the Gujarati drama Sasuji Ni Sawaari. He then acted in several Gujarati theater plays, including ‘Khalel’, ‘Ajatashatru’ and ‘Pati Naam Patangyu’. In an interview, Apara Mehta talked about her journey in theater and said,
“I have always enjoyed doing Gujarati plays and really admire people like Asit Modi, who I know through my association with Gujarati theatre. He is a visionary producer. It’s thriving, and something with over a century of history isn’t going to disappear overnight. But I think new stage artistes, especially, should come to Mumbai and explore more options, which will help.
