Aoki Lee Simmons, 21, and Vittorio Assaf, 65, called off their brief alleged romance, which seemed to worry their parents. Amid her split, Simmons shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Story, highlighting a quote from Chloë Sevigny’s April 2023 interview with the Cut.
The quote Aoki highlighted was: “I spent a year working at Liquid Sky and Madison Square Garden, standing in line for ticket touts and hanging out, dancing and kissing. That was my big coming out year. I know it was very scary for my mom, but I went over it a lot and my dad always reminded her that there was more good than bad in the world. They were quite worried about drugs, but I never liked using them. I haven’t even done cocaine. I participated in other things: acid, ecstasy, flipping candy.”
Aoki then added a caption on the Instagram story: “His words [are] also mine [at this point].”
Many fans believe Aoki was hinting at how her recent actions, including her brief relationship with Assaf, affected her parents. Both her mother, Kimora Lee Simmons, and her father, Russell Simmons, appeared to express concern over her daughter’s photos of her and Assaf kissing that surfaced online.

The source went on to say that Aoki is simply learning how to navigate his personal life while in the spotlight.

To put it into context, Kimora and Russell have an 18-year age difference. In fact, they met when she was only 17 years old (and he was 35).
Additionally, a source close to Aoki specifically shared with People that Aoki and Assaf were “spending time together and enjoying each other’s company” after meeting while on vacation in St. Barths.
