The opening was set in his “living room” after a title card from “Mr. Anderson’s Neighborhood.” The songs included themes of good times, The facts of life and Miami Vice.

The comedian introduced his mother in the opening bit, saying she’s responsible for interrupting people’s acceptance speeches when they go on too long, and then interrupted Anthony for making the joke go on too long.

She later brought out Christina to a standing ovation, with the actress joking, “You’re embarrassing me for my disability if you stand up,” before presenting the first award of the night.

Actually, this is the 2023 Emmy Awards, which was scheduled for September. The ceremony was delayed due to labor disputes in Hollywood, so it was added to the awards season schedule on a Monday night. The Emmys will air live on Fox and Anthony Anderson will host the event.
