In his 2019 video titled The Day It Happened, Andy Detwiler revealed how he lost both hands. Andy, as a child, accompanied his father and grandfather as they did the farm work on July 18. While the adults were weeding, Andy reached into the snail pool. His mother thinks her baby accidentally put one hand inside and pulled the other in. A YouTuber was seriously injured when the device lost control.
Andy’s hand had to be amputated after he was taken to the hospital. He claims to have been conscious during the horrifying event. Despite the obstacles of growing up without arms, Andy has managed to create a successful and happy life for himself, and his story has inspired many others.

Andy Detwiler announced his cancer diagnosis to fans in a video from April 2021. Along with his wife and children in the video, he detailed the problems he is facing. , including eating. He later revealed that he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2020. Andy Detwiler passed away on September 21, 2022 at 7:20 a.m. at Mercy Health-Urbana.
