I have a bone to pick with New York Post. Mark and Kelly had their premiere the other day,” Andy began. “He New York Post write an article saying the response to the show was bad and cite 10, 7, or 5 negative tweets about the show. This is a national show that gets, I think, like 5 million viewers a day. It’s the number one morning show.”

He continued: “Then the Mail decides to lazily report that, “Oh people hate it” based on six troll-y tweets. There are probably 16 troll-y tweets about this particular stream right now. There’s not a show you can write about that you can’t say, ‘Well, guess what? People on Twitter hated it, so it’s reported as news.”

“Six troll tweets where I’m sure the Monday show, and we don’t know the ratings yet, probably got the highest ratings in a long time,” Andy added. “Who cares what six randos said on Twitter.”

Andy went on to say that the newspaper proceeded to run a similar article on Tuesday, writing that Live Viewers “still don’t like” the show, just two days after Mark took on the new role of co-host.

“You know what, you’re lazy. You’re lazy,” Andy said of the newspaper. “You’re picking your butt trying to think of something to write about. This is like Megyn Kelly journalism here, you know, cut from the same cloth.”

Andy then said that he was caught up in the conversation when page sixa subset of New York Postused one of his social media posts as proof that he was supporting Mark and Kelly, 52, amid “mixed reviews” of his show.

“How many days a week do I post a Snoopy meme on my Instagram stories? Probably five, maybe,” Andy asked a producer on his show. “Post very random. Yesterday I published one that, by the way, I had planned to publish two days before and I forgot. It was a cute one that said, ‘Hang in there, Snoopy at Woodstock,’ whatever, someone hanging out. Hang there. i posted it yesterday New York Post write an article, page six saying: ‘Andy Cohen seems to support Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, in the middle of Live reviews’”.

“Now, they are talking about these 12 tweets in the mixed reviews on Live. ‘That’s what Friends Are For. Andy Cohen apparently supported old friends of his, blah blah blah blah blah. Taking to Instagram stories, the Bravo honcho, 54, shared an illustration of Snoopy along with the words, keep your head up,’” Andy said as he read lines from the article. “I mean, like, are you kidding me? This is crazy. This has nothing to do with anything.”

Andy also mentioned that he hasn’t talked to Mark and Kelly about these items yet.

“By the way, I haven’t talked to any of them about any of this, and I’m sure they don’t even know what’s going on,” Andy said. “But anyway, I’m upset because I read page six I eat five times a day, so I’m ready.”
