Amy Schumer opened up about her personal health battles and revealed that she was diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Cushing’s syndrome occurs when the body has too much of the hormone cortisol for a long time. This may be due to the body producing too much cortisol or taking medications called glucocorticoids.
The main symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome are a “fatty hump” between the shoulders, as well as a rounded face and pink or purple stretch marks on the skin. Cushing’s syndrome can also cause high blood pressure or bone loss and even type 2 diabetes.
During a recent appearance on Jessica Yellin’s show News not noise In the newsletter, Schumer shared more details about his health. She said his speculation about her “swollen face” led her to seek treatment.
