Amreen Shaikh was born in an ordinary family. His father owned a restaurant, but he could not run it. He lost all his money and got into debt. Due to financial constraints, Amrin’s mother and grandmother used to make samosas at home and then Munawwar used to sell them on a cart to run the household. Munawwar talked about this in an interview and said,
My mother and grandmother used to make samosas at home, and I started a stall outside my house where I would fry and sell them. It was a struggle. My fingers got burnt, hot oil splashed on me. But with time I became professional and this business took off.”
Additionally, Munawwar used to do various types of odd jobs to support his family. He talked about this in an interview and said,
We had a restaurant, but it could not function. Dad lost all his money, got into huge debt, so I had to work. I worked at a gift shop from 9 am to 8 pm for two months. Working 11 hours a day, I earned ₹850 per month. I had to walk 3.5 km to the shop. I didn’t like it, so we decided to do something else.”
Amrin’s mother committed suicide by drinking acid in 2007. In 2020, his father passed away after suffering from paralysis.

In 2024, during the family week in Bigg Boss 17, Amreen Shaikh visited the Bigg Boss house to meet his brother, Munawar Faruqui, who was a contestant on it. In the episode, upon Amarin’s entrance, the contestants were instructed to participate in a freeze-and-release game. As soon as she reunited with her brother, both became emotional and hugged each other, leaving everyone’s heart heavy in the house.
