Aman Chopra was born in Delhi. He did his schooling from Ravindra Public School, Pitampura, Delhi. He studied Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) from Technia Institute of Advanced Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Subsequently, he joined Delhi University to pursue a postgraduate diploma in public relations. Later he did MA in Mass Communication from Lovely Professional University. Chopra was a theater artist during his college days and participated in many plays. While in college, she also worked as a freelance anchor.

Aman Chopra started his career with print media. He then joined a PR agency for some time and then moved to electronic media. In electronic media, he started his career as a news reporter with IBN7 (now News18 India). He worked there for some time and then joined ‘CNEB’. Aman worked at CNEB for almost four years. After this he worked in Rajya Sabha TV for about four years. He also worked with ‘News Express’ for some time. He remained associated with ABP News for about five years.

Controversy
Accused of promoting religious hatred
In April 2022, Rajasthan Police filed two separate FIRs against News18 anchor Aman Chopra for promoting religious enmity by spreading fake news. Reportedly, while hosting a live show, he compared the demolition of a 300-year-old temple in Alwar with the partial demolition of a mosque in Jahangirpuri.

During the show he said,
Jahangirpuri took revenge by attacking Mahadev. Please listen to me carefully what I am going to say.”
He added,
Could it be just a coincidence that two days ago a bulldozer was used on a mosque complex in Jahangirpuri and today three temples were demolished in Alwar, Rajasthan. One temple was 300 years old. Was it to avenge Jahangirpuri?”
Chopra ignored the fact that the temple was demolished at the behest of the BJP-run municipal corporation in Alwar. #ArrestAmanChopra started trending on Twitter soon after the show aired. Later, two FIRs were registered under sections 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and 295 in Bundi and Dungarpur districts. Gone. (Injuring or desecrating a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 295-A (deliberate and malicious act, with intent to outrage religious feelings), 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 124A (treason) and 67 (imprisonment in default of payment of fine).
