Tom Parker lost his courageous battle against terminal brain cancer in late March 2022. Tom’s parents boosted Tom’s career by buying him a guitar.
Tom Parker was born on August 4, 1988 in Bolton, Greater Manchester, the son of Noreen and Nigel Parker. He learned the basics of the guitar by playing the guitar from his older brother.
“What I definitely wanted was to play the guitar,” Tom said, according to The Daily Mail. “I first picked up a guitar at 16, just before sixth grade.”
Parker’s influences were bands like Oasis, Blur and Radiohead. Noreen and Nigel recognized Tom’s enthusiasm for music and bought him a guitar.

“Eventually I bought this cheap acoustic guitar for £150, something I really appreciate mum and dad did for me,” he said. “Wonderwall was the first song I learned on the guitar and to this day is one of my all-time favorites.”
Parker made an effort to spend as much time as possible with her parents.
After Parker and the wanted the bandmates became international sensations, the music became their entire world. Between recording and touring, Parker struggled to find time for his parents.
tom said The Lancashire Telegraph that he would come home once every six months for a couple of days during his days with the band. However, the band’s hiatus offered Tom the opportunity to pursue other interests and more time to spend with his loved ones, including his parents.

In 2017, Parker played Danny Zuko in a stage production of Grease at the Palace Theater in Manchester. Noreen and Nigel showed up to support Parker. “When I found out we were opening in Manchester, I thought, ‘They couldn’t have written it better for me,’” he said.
Tom spent three weeks with his mom and dad before the play moved to another city. He explained:
“Actually, I’m staying with my mum and dad for the three weeks we’re in Manchester. This will be the first time I have been able to stay with them for an extended period of time in years. This will be the first time I’ve lived at home in years, that will be good.”
