Ali Zafar was born on Sunday, 18 May 1980 (age 39 years; as in 2019) in Lahore, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Taurus.
He did his schooling from CAA Public School. He completed his graduation from Government College, Lahore. Zafar also studied at the National College of Arts, Lahore.

- In 2018, Meesha Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of sexually harassing her several times but Ali had rejected all the allegations of Meesha and filed a defamation suit of Rs 20 lakh. 1 billion against him. Meanwhile, Misha had also filed a case of sexual harassment against Ali.In March 2019, a district sessions judge issued an order quashing the defamation case against Misha. Earlier in March 2019, Ali had also filed a petition against Misha for filing a fake affidavit in the civil court.
- During the ongoing controversy over Misha-Zafar, Ali Zafar had said that Misha wanted to become Malala (Malala Yousafzai) by targeting him. However, his comment on Misha sparked anger among the people and people criticized him for his insensitive comments.
- In 2012, when Veena Malik’s nude photo was published on the cover page of FHM magazine, it became a subject of controversy. Ali expressed his views on this controversy and said that he does not believe that people who are talented need controversies to further their careers. Adding to the controversy, Ali said,
You have to understand that she (Veena) is an individual and you cannot judge the entire community based on the behavior of one person. You should not even evaluate Pakistan through me.”

- He liked painting since childhood. Ali drew his first comic at the age of 8.
- His parents wanted him to pursue a career in civil services but somehow he convinced his parents for his decision and his parents also supported him. Talking about this he says-
I remember my father encouraging me to read newspapers diligently to prepare for civil services examinations, but I could never see myself being in a government office. I wanted respect because of my achievements and not because of my position in a government job. I was a dreamer, an optimist and a romantic. “I didn’t have any detailed plan to make my dreams come true, just a lot of passion.”
- As a child, he had no interest in poetry and music but eventually, as he grew up, he started developing interest in it.

I prepared by studying journalists, observing and learning how they work. Given that they are everywhere and around most of the time, this wasn’t really hard. I also took a 10-day acting workshop with Barry John as well as other actors from the film. I am a spontaneous actor and I have maintained a casual and natural acting style for the film.
- After debuting in Bollywood with the film “Tere Bin Laden” in 2010, he received offers for about 40 films. Even though his film was a huge success in India, it was banned in Pakistan.
