Aakash Dadlani is an Indian rapper. He is best known for participating in the controversial reality TV show, Bigg Boss 11, where he built a reputation as a “bad boy”. In 2022, he won an award for the music video of his song Dosti Friends.

Akash Anil Dadlani was born in 1993 (age 31 years; as of 2024). Akash did his schooling from Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas and then Albemarle High School in Albemarle, North Carolina. He moved to India in 2011 where he studied at a college in Mumbai under a student exchange program but dropped out to pursue his rap career.

In 2011, Aakash dropped out of college to pursue rap as a career. His goal was to become an international Indian rapper. His rap name is ACA$H. After a lot of struggle, he got a chance to work with the famous Bollywood band Meet Brothers. When Akash was in Bigg Boss, he had claimed to help Meet Brothers through the song Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan. When co-contestant Vikas Gupta made fun of him for taking credit for the song, he clarified that he helped him with a few lines. In response, Manmeet Singh, one of the Meet Brothers, said,
This is absolute nonsense, man. He used to come here and learn music. So when we composed the tune to write the rap, he also wrote something but we did not use it because he is not a professional. He is still learning. We try a lot of people, you know. We call some five singers to sing the song. When we don’t like something we don’t keep it, so it was something we didn’t like because it doesn’t have that nature yet. So what he is saying is not true.”

In 2018, he rapped in the song “Bang Bang” under his artist name ACASH. In 2019, he sang the song “Nagin Dance” with Purnima Solanki and acted in its music video. He also composed the song Dosti Friends and acted in the music video. In 2022 he released the song Mumbai Dreaming.

Television
In 2012, he participated in the reality show Superdude aired on UTV Bindass. He participated in the 2017–18 reality TV show Bigg Boss 11 (Padosi Bajaye Barah) as a “commoner”. He was sent to “jail” on the very first day. He started gaining popularity for creating controversial situations and fighting with co-contestants. After facing the public vote, he was evicted on Day 101 in the final week (Week 15).

Tennis
When Akash Dadlani was young, he developed his interest in playing tennis and won many competitions. He was a part of the Albemarle Bulldogs tennis team at Albemarle High School. He participated in the 2009 RRC Championships, where he won the competition and was named 2008 Player of the Year. When he was 16 years old, he participated in the Tennis State Level Championship held in Texas in 2009 and won the competition. She was named 1A singles tennis champion.

In December 2017, he forcibly kissed co-contestant Shilpa Shinde in the Bigg Boss 11 house. Shilpa also accused him of being a “panty-sniffer”. When Akash was asked about his actions at a press conference, he admitted to making a mistake and said that he had no “bad intentions”. She faced criticism when she embarrassed her co-contestant Benafsha Soonawalla by calling her a “flat screen TV”. They also called him “unclean, crazy and smelly”. He then faced criticism for forcibly kissing co-contestant Lucinda Nicholas and making her feel uncomfortable.

He also asked them to kiss him in exchange for their vote in his favour. Lucinda complains that Akash has crossed the limits in flirting. Speaking about his behavior Lucinda said,
In the beginning the way he sang to me was weird but gradually it got really dirty. He kept asking me to kiss him and even when I said no, he kept coaxing me. It was disgusting when she told me that a girl’s no actually means yes. “It’s a very cheap idea and I’m relieved to get away from it.”
He also commented about Vikas Gupta’s sexuality and had fights with Vikas and Priyank Sharma. Priyank was thrown out of the show for pushing Akash.

Relationship with singer Vishal Dadlani
In Bigg Boss 11, Akash had said that he was a relative of singer Vishal Dadlani. He claimed to be the singer’s “dead brother’s son”. Vishal responded to her statement on Twitter and said that he never had any brother and their relation is very distant.

While on the show (Bigg Boss) with her son Akash’s mother, Sunita said that Vishal was lying about never meeting Akash. He also said that he has proof of Akash and Vishal being cousins. He said,
I also have proof that Akash and Vishal are cousins. There are pictures of Vishal and his family in my wedding album.”

In January 2018, he was reportedly seen drunk on the sets of Entertainment Ki Raat, following which he was thrown out. Later, while clarifying this news, he said,
I was not thrown out. I decided to walk out after reading the script because I didn’t like it. We used to get very insulted (the script was very insulting to me). They were making fun of me a lot. I have just come from Bigg Boss 11, there we saw that Salman Khan had a lot of fun and insulted me. I can’t have my fun and insults everywhere. I refused to rap. I know Balraj, he is a friend, we have played cricket together. They told me that they would make fun of me. I left the set with my team… My mother and my friends had got front row seats for the show, but then my mother asked me not to do so and I respect my family and loved ones ‘
