Willis was hospitalized in February. Police assumed he was suffering from an overdose. But doctors told a different story.
His toxicology report came back clean because there were no drugs in his system. However, Willis’ father, Michael, says he and his family are still waiting to see the report for themselves.
The actress suffered from an eating disorder
There is also another interesting twist in the story. Although the film actress’s toxicology report was clear, she still struggled with drug abuse. Her stepfather Michael says her daughter wasn’t eating consistently before going to rehab. She weighed just 80 pounds before admission.
Even with an apparent eating disorder, Michael says it hasn’t been confirmed if that’s what landed her in the hospital. But he did tell TMZ that Emily was “determined” to get back on the right path.
The family has launched a GoFundMe for Emily. The fundraising statement reads: “The gap in coverage leaves us facing significant out-of-pocket costs for treatments,” the Willis family said. “And essential medications for Emily’s recovery.”
