Facts/General Knowledge
- After shifting from Delhi to Mumbai on 5 September 2006, he worked as an assistant director for a few years. During an interview he talked about his days of struggle. He said,
In the beginning, I used to wake up early every morning and go to every production house. I will reach there to ask for a job. I worked in theater early in my life and I’ve always been fascinated by how directors work, rather than what actors do. The way they treated the assistants in those days was ridiculous. It was only a few production houses where they would ask you for water.
he adds,
I still remember I was in Santa Cruz and someone told me that there was some work in GS Entertainment, but when I went there, they denied that there was any opportunity. As soon as I came out, I saw Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production house. I entered there and by this time, I was completely exhausted after being rejected by many production houses. I had no support and was not from a film background. I was also ready to work as an apprentice. I entered the production house and went to the receptionist asking for a job, she pointed towards a gentleman named Mithun Gangopadhyay sitting there and since then he has been my closest friend in Mumbai. He was also an assistant director there and had joined only a year ago.
- He was shooting for Dharma Productions’ film ‘Raat Baaki’ starring Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan in 2016, but the film came to a halt due to Pakistani artistes being banned from India following the terrorist attacks in Uri in September 2018.

- In an interview, he had told that he wanted to become an army officer in his childhood. He said,
I was always interested in the army, I wanted to join the army. Being a Kashmiri Pandit, I have been hearing about terrorism since childhood. We have also been victims of terrorism, directly or indirectly. So, when I heard about the attacks, I wanted to know how the army carried it out. By the end of my six months of research, I realized that this was one of the best covert military operations ever conducted by the Indian Army and I knew I had to tell this story.
