In February 2022, Rakhi announced on Instagram that she was getting divorced from her husband, Ritesh Singh. In the Instagram post, she wrote,
Dear Fans and well-wishers, Just wanted to say that Ritesh and I have decided to part ways. After the Big Boss show a lot has happened and I was unaware of certain things which were out of my control. We have tried to work out our differences and tried to make things work but I think it’s best we both move on amicably and we both enjoy our lives separately.”
In an interview, Rakhi claimed that Adil helped her a lot to move on from the divorce phase and cheered her up. On 14 May 2022, Adil Khan and Rakhi Sawant were spotted together. In an interview, she revealed that both were dating each other. She shared this news on Instagram by posting a video with the caption “My sweetheart my life.”

Controversies
Case filed by Rakhi Sawant
On 6 February 2023, Rakhi Sawant, Adil’s wife, filed an FIR against him at the Oshiwara police station, accusing him of mishandling her funds while she was inside the house of Bigg Boss Marathi. She also alleged that Durrani failed to look after her ailing mother Jaya Sawant, who died on January 29 after a long battle with cancer. Holding him responsible for her mother’s demise Rakhi revealed in an interview that Adil did not pay money timely for her mother’s surgery. She even accused Adil of having an extramarital affair with a girl named Tanu Chandel. Following her FIR, Adil was arrested by the Oshiwara Police. Later, some sources revealed that Adil was not arrested and was called up by the Oshiwara Police for interrogation. Afterwards, the duo were spotted at an eating joint in Mumbai, feeding each other.
Iranian student rape case
On 13 February 2023, an Iranian student filed an FIR against Adil Durrani at the VV Puram police station of Mysuru, accusing him of raping her. She also accused him of cheating, threatening, and blackmailing her. According to the victim, Adil raped her after promising to marry her. The police booked him under IPC Sections 406, 420 498 (A), and 377.
