Screen Rant: Meagan, you did a great job as Darla. Have you worked with young actresses to help improve manners and ways of speaking?
Meghan Goode: Yes, the most important thing is observation. Let’s see how Faithe is doing [Herman] The way she talks, the way Faithe walks, the way she expresses and shows her feelings, and all that. A lot of it is copying it and then imagining if she was in this situation she would be a superhero now. What would that feel like? What makes her try to be a little more mature and make smart decisions to help the world and all that? For me, it was a dream come true because, more than anything, I just wanted little black girls to consider themselves superheroes. And what better way to do it than a little girl?
In this movie, Adam, Freddie and Billy are two sides of the same coin. Freddy truly lives his dream and finds his independence as a superhero, while Billy suffers from imposter syndrome and fear of abandonment. Can you talk to me about working with Zack and playing his character in those scenes?
Adam Brody: He’s a real born cheerleader, mentor and life of the party. He’s a natural leader, he’s contagious.
As for fighting it, it is a formidable force, so it is not difficult to find and fight it. Out of his shadow; 6 foot-8 tall guy.
Darla is amazing. What do you want to bring her that doesn’t necessarily have to be on the page? Can you guys spend more time on the actual costumes this time, how was the experience?
Meghan Goode: Above all, I wanted to show her heart, because you saw a lot of things in the first story with Faithe, her little feeling hurt because he said, “I don’t must be your real brother.” And she said, ‘Okay. ‘ I just want to make sure you can really feel Darla’s heartbeat or [warmth].
And then there’s the amazing suit; such an upgrade. Much more flattering and easier to operate, that’s great.
Adam, I love seeing two different expressions of family with the daughters of Atlas. They are blood relatives and Shazamily is the adoptive family. Can you talk to me about why this performance is important?
Adam Brody: It’s interesting, I never thought it would be people who are not related by blood. No spoilers have been revealed though I guess you’ve mentioned it by now. I think the bottom line in my life is this: Family is what you make. You start your own family.
Blood and blood ties would be great to have such a level of love and support, but at the same time, you need to be surrounded by people who love and support you no matter what. And you have to stay away from toxic people, whoever they are. I think we all find our own family in our lives.
This is exactly what I wanted from a superhero movie, especially Shazam! Movie. We don’t know what the future holds for DCU, but we do know that many projects have been announced. Who would you like to see the Shazam family collaborate with next?
Adam Brody: DC Phase 17. I feel like we might meet Lobo, or a dark and crazy person that blends perfectly with Shazam’s youthful innocence. Who is the most rotten bastard in the DC universe?
Lex Luthor perhaps? I have no idea. clown?
Adam Brody: That’s weird. It could be us with Shazam and Todd Phillips’ Joker 3.
