Abhishek Banerjee is an Indian politician and social activist. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from the Diamond Harbor constituency in 2014. He is the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Abhishek Banerjee was born on 8 November 1987 (age: 35 years as in 2022) in a Brahmin family in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He received his primary education from Nava Nalanda High School, Kolkata and MP Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. For his higher education, he attended the Indian Institute of Planning and Management, New Delhi and obtained BBA and MBA degrees in Human Resources and Marketing.

In 2011, he became the National President of All India Trinamool Youth Congress. Abhishek Banerjee contested the 2014 general election from Diamond Harbor constituency on All India Trinamool Congress ticket and defeated Dr. Abul Hasnat of CPI. In the same year, Abhishek was made a member of the Standing Committee on Commerce, Consultative Committee and Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs. - In 2015, he created a controversy at a public rally. Abhishek said that the government led by his aunt Mamata Banerjee killed Communist Party of India (Maoist) leader Koteshwar Rao alias Kishanji. “Only one person has died (in Jangalmahal) during (Mamata Banerjee’s) four-year rule,” he said. By killing him, Mamata Banerjee government has proved that the final decision will be taken by the public only.”
