Abde Ezzalzouli Early career
Ezzalzouli studied at the academies of Pea Ilicitana Raval CF, CD Pablo Iglesias, Kelme CF, Promesas Elche CF and CD Cultural Carrs. He tried to play at Elche, the main club in his hometown, but failed to win a place in the academy.
Ezzalzouli continued to play for small clubs in Elche until Antonio Moreno Domnguez, the coach of Hércules B, offered to sign him. Ezzalzouli then joined the main club in nearby Alicante. In 2016, he joined the Hercules reserve team. In 2019, he joined the main team.
Barcelona
On 31 August 2021, Ezzalzouli changed teams and moved to Barcelona B. He played his first match for Barcelona in a 1-1 draw with Aravés on 30 October 2021. He came on as a substitute in the 80th minute. Thus, Ezzalzouli became the first player born in Morocco to join the Barça first team. In a 2-2 draw with Osasuna, he scored his first goal for Barcelona.
In September 2022, Abdessamadu’s contract with Barcelona was extended until 2026, after which he was loaned to Osasuna. Abdessamad’s first match against Osasuna took place on 4 September against Rayo Vallecano. After being sent off in the 81st minute, he helped score a 2-1 win.
International career
Ezzalzouli was in Morocco’s U20 team at the 2020 Arab U20 Cup. He made five appearances and scored two goals. Abdessamad has turned down Vahid Halilhodi’s offer to play for Morocco at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to focus on his club. It’s December 20, 2021.
On 17 March 2022, Ezzalzouli was named in the 26-man squad to play against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – CAF Third Round. Ezzalzouli was invited to join the Moroccan national team in September 2022. In his first match, he played against Chile in a friendly match at the RCDE stadium in Cornellà de Llobregat. They won 2-0.
