Fitz recently claimed he’s gay on the Misfits podcast, but fans dismissed it as a joke.
Members of the Misfits Podcast recently caused a stir when they uploaded a video titled How Fitz found out he’s gay. Fitz co-hosts the podcast with several of his friends in Melbourne, Australia.
In the clip, Fitz narrated a story of how he found meaning in life and in himself by comparing an apple and an orange while shopping at a supermarket. Then out of nowhere he said, “And that’s when I realized I’m gay.” Fitz’s fellow podcasters greeted his revelation with applause.
If it was any other YouTuber making such a statement, we’d take it more seriously. However, Fitz’s revelation is most likely a joke. Misfit podcasters are masters of enhanced comedy. They can create hilarious content on a whim.
Despite appearing serious, Misfit fans couldn’t help but notice the sarcasm in Fitz’s voice as he detailed his life-changing moment in a supermarket aisle. In all likelihood, Fitz is not gay.
YouTuber CallMeCarson accused his ex-girlfriend Katerino of cheating on him with Fitz
Rumors of a breakup between Carson and Fitz started after Carson unfollowed Fitz on social media. A Reddit user later speculated that Carson’s girlfriend cheated on him with Fitz. Carson confirmed the accusation writing, “ding ding ding, we have a winner.” However, other users dismissed Carson’s comment as an April Fool’s joke.
To his surprise, Carson denied that he was joking. In other responses, Carson opened up about his battle with depression and his deal with Kate against spreading false rumors. He then asked his followers to be nice to Kate and Fitz and announced that he would be taking a break from social media.
“Sorry Carson,” Fitz apologized in a tweet posted on April 15, 2020. “I hurt you and I wasn’t a good friend. I can only hope that one day you will forgive me. I regret what I did and I regret where we are.” Kate reacted through a YouTube video in which she claimed that her mental illness made her feel lost and confused during her relationship with Carson.
On February 15, 2020, Carson posted a long message in twitlonger apologizing for publicizing the matter. He wrote: “I want to admit my own faults in this situation as I am also guilty of things here. To Kate and Fitz: I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you and I’m sorry I exposed your private life to the world. It was a wrong decision and I apologize. You did wrong, but you didn’t deserve to have your career jeopardized.”
In his return to streaming in late April 2020, Carson appeared to scoff at Kate’s excuse to cheat on him. His opinion aligned with the majority of her fans who chided Kate for using her mental health as a ‘crutch’.
Anything4views later claimed that Fitz, Carson, and Kate made up their feud.
In January 2021, Chad (aka Anything4views) claimed that Fitz, Carson, and Kate made up their feud. He claimed that the entire situation was fake and that Carson had no qualms about Kate and Fitz being together. Some Reddit users backed up his views by stating that Carson and Kate never dated.
None of the parties involved reacted; therefore, it is likely that Chad made the comments to gain publicity. It is not surprising that his Twitter Biographical Readings:: “Don’t take anything I say or do seriously, I’m just here to have a good time.”
Fitz takes regular breaks from broadcasting to focus on his mental health
Cameron McKay was born on September 18, 1996. He began posting videos to YouTube in January of 2014 as a hobby. Shortly after entering college, Fitz decided to drop out for a year so he could get a job and focus more on YouTube. He still saw content creation as a hobby, but after trying harder, he became his livelihood. Fitz stated in an interview with Waste:
“I never left college with the mindset that no matter what, I’m going to be a great YouTuber. I knew I wasn’t enjoying college and I knew taking a gap year to get work experience wouldn’t hurt me in any way. It would give me more time to work on YouTube and allow me to move out of my parents’ house and be more independent. It would allow me to support YouTube as a hobby, even if it doesn’t work.”
Fortunately, YouTube worked for Fitz. Through creating original content and collaborating with established YouTubers, Fitz became a force to be reckoned with in the world of online gaming. Unlike other YouTube gamers who regularly mass-produce content, Fitz has taken a laid-back approach, opting to create content when he wants rather than because he has to.
Fitz’s videos are few and far between because he takes a lot of time off YouTube to focus on his mental health. YouTube has brought her success, but she doesn’t want his life to be dominated by it. He explained:
“A healthy state of mind and a positive outlook on how your life is going makes a world of difference. Otherwise, you’ll start exaggerating and pretending, which is exactly the position I never want to find myself in… I seem to fall a little bit apart, even if it’s just one day without thinking. Youtube, without thinking about hitting that record button and being funny. And go back to how you lived life or how you played games before YouTube.”
