10 Best Cards In Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield — Rebel Clash, Ranked

The Charizard-focused Ultra Premium Collection was released on October 28th exciting many fans of the Pokémon to obtain three amazing new promo cards alongside several other awesome items like metallic coins, dice, and a playing mat.

The Pokémon Sword & Shield series experienced many fantastic expansions. One of those was Rebel Clash, the second expansion for the series that gave fans many of the cards they had been waiting for of key Pokémon from the Galar region and many VMAX Pokémon to help bolster players’ decks.

10 Dragapult V (Full Art)

Dragapult has quickly risen as one of the most popular Pokémon from Sword & Shield and serves as the pseudo-legendary Pokémon for the games. This awesome card depicts Dragapult V with a full artwork variant. It is an awesome card for collectors and for players who wish to add it to either a Psychic or Dragon-type deck.

Dragapult’s first attack, Bite, deals 30 damage and requires one psychic energy. Its second attack, Jet Assault, only requires two psychic energies and deals 60 damage. However, if the player moved Dragapult from the bench to the active position the turn Dragapult attacks, then Jet Assault does 140 damage instead.

Falinks is a fun Fighting-type card that’s simply dazzling to look at in its full art. The card has a special ability called Iron Defense Formation that lets all Pokémon with the name “Falinks” in their name take 30 less damage from every attack.

For a basic Pokémon, Falinks also has an incredible attack that deals 210 damage. The downside to this attack, however, is that it can’t be used on the next turn though players can retreat and even use another Falinks V if they have one.

8 Sandaconda V (Full Art)

Sandaconda is one of the best snake-like Pokémon and will surely help players slither their way to victory. This card has an attack as strong as Falinks’s but with far fewer downsides. Sandaconda’s first attack, however, requires 1 Fighting-type energy and deals 30 damage.

This attack also allows the player to attach 1 Fighting-type energy from their discard pile to Sandaconda. Sandaconda’s second attack, Sand Breath, deals 220 damage, but the player must discard 2 energy every time they use this attack.

7 Dragapult VMAX (Secret)

Dragapult is a fantastic dragon Pokémon and is also one of the strongest Ghost-type Pokémon. This is proven even with Dragapult’s VMAX card and its fantastic secret rare card. Dragapult’s first attack, Shred, deals 60 damage and only requires one psychic energy to use. Additionally, this attack isn’t affected by any of the active Pokémon’s effects.

Dragapult is an excellent card because how it doesn’t require too much energy to use, and its second attack only needs 2 psychic energies. This attack is called Max Phantom, and it deals 150 damage. It also allows the player to place 5 damage counters on the opponent’s benched Pokémon in any way the player wants.

6 Toxtricity VMAX (Secret)

Toxtricity has one of the best Gigantamax designs from Pokémon Sword & Shield and that’s shown well in this secret rare card. This radical rock star Pokémon only has one attack, but it deals 160 damage normally and requires three energies to use.

However, if the defending Pokémon is poisoned, Toxtricity deals 240 damage instead. The poison status effect may seem random, but before evolving Toxtricity V players do have the opportunity to use Poison Jab and poison the defending Pokémon.

5 Inteleon VMAX (Secret)

Inteleon is the final evolution of the Water-type starter Pokémon from Sword & Shield, Sobble. This secret rare card perfectly captures the Pokémon and its swag as it stands in place. Inteleon has two attacks that are both incredible.

The first attack, Hydro Snipe, deals 60 damage and lets the player move one of the opponent’s energy cards back to their hand. The second attack, Max Bullet, deals 160 damage as well as 60 damage to one of the opponent’s benched Pokémon.

4 Copperajah VMAX (Secret)

Copperajah is a Pokémon based on a weird real-life event and is one of the strongest Steel-type Pokémon ever. This is a card any player working on a Steel-type deck needs and this secret rare variant is perfect for collectors.

Copperajah is a hard Pokémon to take down with its 330 HP and this is reinforced by its incredible offense. Copperajah’s first attack deals 100 damage and if it’s up against a basic Pokémon it deals 200 damage instead. Copperajah’s second attack is even more powerful and deals a total of 240 damage.

3 Rillaboom VMAX (Secret)

Rillaboom is the final evolution of the Grass-type starter Pokémon from Sword & Shield, Grookey as well as one of the best Grass-type Pokémon. Rillaboom already deals a decent amount of damage with its first attack which requires one energy and deals 50 damage.

The second attack, Max Beating, requires four energies and normally will deal 130 damage. However, the player can additionally discard up to three Grass-type energies to deal 50 more damage for each one. Meaning Rillaboom can deal up to 280 damage.

The effect of the card is also fantastic and is a perfect card to use against opponents who like to retreat. Boss’s Orders allows the player to switch one of the opponent’s benched Pokémon with their active Pokémon. Drawing this card could be the perfect way to reach victory during the player’s turn.
