Controversy
Illegal one time license in Goa
On July 23, Zoish was embroiled in controversy when some Congress leaders alleged that Zoish was running a bar in Goa illegally. He claimed that he had obtained the bar license in the name of a dead person. They also demanded the resignation of Joish’s mother Smriti Irani, who is a Union minister. In a press conference, Smriti Irani said that the allegations made by Congress against her daughter are aimed at defaming her daughter’s character. Smriti also claimed that Zoish was an 18-year-old college student and did not run a bar. he adds,
The allegation that my daughter runs an illegal bar is malicious not only with the intention of assassinating her character but also with the intention of defaming me politically. And to the Gandhi family, who directed this press conference [by Congress] Be against my child, I tell you this, send Rahul Gandhi back to contest Lok Sabha elections from Amethi in 2024 and he will lose again. As a BJP worker and a mother, this is my promise to that 18-year-old girl. I will see him in court.”
The controversy started when a video of Zoish’s conversation with food critic Kunal Vijaykar on his show Khaane Mein Kya Hai went viral on Twitter. In the video she told Kunal that she is the owner of Souls Bar and Cafe in Goa.
Some BJP members are shamelessly claiming that the bar owner is not the daughter of ‘Tulsi’ ji, this video is for her.
