World Teachers’ Day 2023: History
The history of World Teachers’ Day dates back to October 5, 1966. A special intergovernmental conference on the status of teachers was convened in Paris, France, to analyze issues affecting teachers and their profession. Finally, the Conference reached a consensus and closed the investigation. As a result, they published the document “Recommendation on the Status of Teachers” signed by both members of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and UNESCO.
