Why Taylor Swift Fans Think She Dissed Kim Kardashian on Her New Album: My Mom ‘Wished You Were Dead’

Taylor Swift fans believe the star called out Kim Kardashian on her new album, including the lyrics “[my mom] “I wished you were dead.”

Taylor’s new album, The Department of Tortured Poetsfell this morning – with a shocking double album and a batch of surprise songs. One of those songs was titled “thanks to IMee.” Taylor is famous for hiding secret messages with the use of random capital letters. In this case, of course, the letters form “KIM.”

The lyrics begin, “When I imagine my hometown, there’s a spray-tanned bronze statue of you and a plaque underneath that threatens to push me down the stairs, into our school.”

Many fans point out how Taylor compares Kim to a high school bully. This makes sense considering her controversial history.

First, Kayne West, Kim’s ex-husband, infamously interrupted Taylor’s 2009 acceptance speech at the VMAs.

Later, he released a song called “Famous” in which he rapped: “I feel like Taylor and I could still have sex. Because? I made that bitch famous,” she then claimed that Taylor approved the lyrics before release. Kim supported him through all of this and even shared a private phone call between the rapper and the singer to “prove” Taylor was lying. She also called Taylor a “snake.”

“All that time you were throwing punches, I was building something / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel,” Taylor’s lyrics go. “I screamed ‘Fuck you, Aimee’ at the night sky, as blood poured out.’ But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”

Taylor even references her mother, Andrea Swift, in the song, singing, “Everyone knows my mother is a holy woman / But she used to say she wished you were dead.”

There is nothing like a mother’s protection and love for her children, especially when they are suffering. This was the case for Taylor after the Kim and Kanye vendetta.

In fact, Taylor stated in an interview with Time that the feud is a “dark” time for her.

“You have a completely fabricated frame, in an illegally recorded phone call, that Kim Kardashian edited and then posted to tell everyone that I was a liar,” Taylor said. “That took me psychologically to a place I had never been before. I moved to a foreign country. “I didn’t leave a rental house for a year.”

Taylor’s song concludes with a big clap that fans love.

“And one day, your son comes home singing a song that only the two of us will know is about you,” he sang.
