When Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, visited Amritsar in 2018, India handed him a list with the names of nine Khalistan operatives. The list also contained the name of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
On Monday, the Canadian Prime Minister alleged India’s possible involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Canada’s next move was to expel the Indian diplomat from the country. In a coup, India also expelled a senior Canadian diplomat. Additionally, India rejected all of Canada’s allegations and called them “absurd” and “motivated”.
On June 18, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, commander of the Khalistan Tiger Force, was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in a parking lot in Surrey, Canada.
The list containing the names of operatives accused of several criminal acts, including terrorist activities. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was also one of the names. The list included the names of Gurjeet Singh Cheema, Gurjeet Singh Pannu, Gurpreet Singh and many more.
While India provided the list long ago, Canada is yet to take action against these operators.

What is Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF)?
Khalistan Tiger Force, abbreviated KTF, is a militant unit of the Khalistan movement. The Indian government declared it a terrorist organization in February 2023. KTF was founded by Jagtar Singh Tara. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) supports the KTF. Jagtar Singh Tara is currently serving a life sentence in India for his involvement in the 1995 assassination of Beant Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab.
