How Madison Marsh got Miss America 2024
Fifty-one contestants from all 50 U.S. states, along with the District of Columbia, participated in the pageant. After three nights of preliminary competitions, the contest began. At the start of the main event, the field was narrowed to 11 semi-finalists. Ten were chosen by the preliminary judges, while the remaining secured their place through a public vote open to fans and followers of the contest throughout the United States.
These 11 ladies strutted through four rounds of intense competition: a dazzling display of fitness in dazzling athleisure, a hot discussion of “hot topics” (a modern twist on Q&A), a spectacular talent performance, and a amazing evening dress presentation. The fabulous five finalists were Marsh, Breaux, Cydney Bridges of Indiana, Mallory Hudson of Kentucky and Caroline Parente of Rhode Island.
However, Marsh dazzled in rounds that drew on his personal experiences. During the debate round, which covered a range of topics from terrorism to climate change, Marsh stood out. She shared a heartfelt personal story about her mother’s battle with pancreatic cancer while she talked about drugs in America. She also stood out in the talent round. Marsh captivated the audience with a powerful spoken word performance, showcasing her achievement of earning a pilot’s license at age 16.
During the final round, the five contestants were asked about their aspirations as Miss America. In response, Marsh emphasized her military experience as a testament to her unwavering dedication to learning and leading “with passion.”
According to the Miss America website, the winner of the 2024 pageant will receive $60,000 in tuition scholarships. She will also serve as a brand ambassador, representing Miss America across the country.
