Meet Making the Cut 3D designer, Georgia Hardinge.

Georgia Hardinge graduated from Parsons School of Art & Design Paris in 2010 and founded her own company. The designer focuses on luxury sustainability by using organic and recycled fabrics in her designs. She is also heavily influenced by architecture and uses the pleating technique to create three-dimensional sculptural silhouettes on free-flowing fabrics. Her influences often include London’s infrastructure, which offers a wonderful mix of old and new structures.

The designer’s website highlights her brand and says:

“Georgia Hardinge is a modern brand influenced by new technology and innovation. The company employs a strong sculptural aesthetic that offers a three-dimensional approach to wearables.”

At the 2019 Drapers Awards, Hardinge was nominated for the Sustainability Award. When asked to describe her brand in an interview with Drapers 2019, the designer said:

“An attractive, sculpturally sustainable clothing company that adopts a three-dimensional approach to feminine design.”

In the interview, she also said that one of the biggest difficulties the fashion business faces is sustainability.

Speaking more about it, she added:

“With the retail business having such a damaging environmental impact, it’s important that we all work together to make a difference.”
