Before finding his potential soul mate, Aaron discovers that he is gay and doesn’t have many options for love in North Dakota. The 31-year-old optometrist says he is looking for a committed relationship but is worried about his previous commitments. The Love Without Borders candidate stated that he was in a relationship and that he was very interested in it; However, his partner at the time abandoned him after a while, leaving him injured and depressed. Because of this, he was reluctant to participate in the process, but he was also looking forward to the new opportunity.
He then tells his parents and brother Adam about his plan to go to another country in search of love. Aaron also said that his parents struggled to accept that their son was gay, but they worked hard to understand him and his mother pushed him to date. Although his parents were initially hesitant to send their son to a foreign country, they wanted him to enjoy the experience and most likely fall in love.
