Molly Bloom married her husband, neuroscientist Devin Effinger, in 2019 in Piney Lake, Colorado. Devin was a homeless heroin addict who changed his life and studied neuroscience and addiction.

The film turned out to be a huge success, which presented a problem for Bloom: she would inevitably run into some of the characters from the book and film, some of whom she did not play favorably.
